Camp Grounds in Europe

Camping Mosella, Perl

Text & Photos: Bert Schwarz

Camping Mosella in Perl is situated on the banks of the Moselle river. And on the other side of the river is Luxembourg.

The evaluation of the campsite is difficult. The site has a past that has caused a lot of work, the tenant told us, how to cut wood, renovate water supply and sanitation. The Moselle flood in February 2018 and then brought further work, which was not finished at the end of March/beginning of April.

Meanwhile the place was again properly passable. The terrain is flat, we stood on pavement slabs, which were well aligned and didn't cause us any problems with levelling. A power box is very close by, the tap for fresh water did not work because of a pipe damage caused by the flood. The sanitary house is very clean and modern. The heating is missing, it has not been approved by the community. In summer this is certainly acceptable, at 4, 5°C outside temperature it is not really acceptable.

Status: Spring 2018

Camping pure: A quiet, easily accessible site as a starting point for all kinds of activities in the vineyards of Remich on the Luxembourg side, for a visit to the cradle of borderless Europe in Schengen or for a visit to the city of Luxembourg, which can be reached by car in about 20 minutes.

Otherwise, a well-equipped caravan is highly recommended here.

Our recommendation

Ranking: 7.7 / 10

7.7 of 10 possible points are owed to the condition of the place at the time of our stay.

Still acceptable at warm temperatures.
